About The Position

Intermountain Electronics (IE) is a leading provider and manufacturer of custom engineered Process, Electrical Control and Power Distribution turn-key solutions to the Data Center, Industrial, Power/Utility, Oil & Gas, Mining industries in North America. Our products range from large scale one-off custom Power Distribution, Control and Process systems to standard off-the-shelf electronic/electro-mechanical components. Reporting directly to the Industrial Maintenance Manager, we are currently seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our Dayshift to be based at our Price, Utah facility. Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years demonstrated industrial maintenance experience
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability and skill to effectively operate a wide range of equipment, hand and power tools, overhead crane, forklift, torches, brake shear, power saws, drills, punch press, band saw, welder, various mechanic tools
  • Experience and job knowledge in industrial pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical, including three phase 260 volt and higher
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems including gear boxes, motors, air compressors, pumps, AC, DC, drive troubleshooting, etc.
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, equipment operational instructions

  • Able to read, communicate and comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, equipment files, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and perform routine preventative maintenance inspections, prioritize work and complete necessary repairs on a variety of equipment and machinery used in the production and manufacture of company products.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, overhead crane systems, and production machines.
  • Perform facilities maintenance, inspect, clean, lubricate, change filters, replace office lights, make electrical and plumbing repairs; adjust drive belts and mechanical linkage.
  • Improve reliability and uptime for all equipment. Takes a proactive approach to equipment/repair issues with a preventive maintenance process.
  • Documents work completed. Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance log and records, documents, including results of PM inspections and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment and devices.
  • Dismantles and examines devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Adjusts the functional parts of the devices, equipment, and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Understands layout and plans sequence of operations to maximize efficiency of production in terms of time, quality, quantity, resources, and overall costs.
  • Overhaul, modify, and rebuild equipment and component assemblies to established specifications, using such skills, as welding, hydraulics, pneumatic, electronic, and machine shop knowledge.
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications when troubleshooting malfunctions and making repairs.
  • Fabricate repair parts when required.
  • Ensure the equipment and machinery operates properly and determines extent of repairs.
  • Perform maintenance, rebuild and repair work on all equipment in the facility to support production needs.
  • Research and orders supplies, parts and tools needed to complete repairs/replacement; drives company vehicle to pick up and/or deliver parts.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Operates forklift, man lift, and hydraulic working platform as needed and in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
  • Starts up and shuts down equipment in line with company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Work in a safe manner, so not to endanger self or co-workers. Report unsafe conditions.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Maintains regular and consistent job attendance, comes to work on time.
