Requirements

At least one year of mechanic work experience with one or a combination of employers or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program
At least six months of continuous employment with one employer in the past two years
Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.

Nice To Haves

Applicants will be considered for General Maintenance level openings. Leveling (pay) is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This includes repairing and maintaining the operating conditions of the machinery and equipment, and troubleshooting problems that occur in the day-to-day operation of the facility.
Performs work involving hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanics in general, as well as some welding.
Sets up, adjusts, and breaks down production line machinery and completes daily documentation, as required.
All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to, personal safety and food safety.
Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations.
Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT).
Requires basic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and complete training.
Ability to read manuals to repair equipment safely and to follow all safety protocols.
Ability to record information using company-provided forms and procedures.
Ability to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as needed.
Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members and management.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
