Requirements

At least one year of mechanic work experience with one or a combination of employers or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
At least six months of continuous employment with one employer in the past two years.
Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Willing and able to lift, carry, push, and pull 70+ lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level.
Ability to climb up and down stairs to get to/from work areas, work at elevated levels, various heights, and in confined spaces, as applicable.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform job up to 10-12 hours/day, with appropriate breaks.
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach above, below, and across at shoulder level.
Ability to flex/grip with wrists/hands and use maintenance tools.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves.
Basic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and complete training.
Ability to read manuals to repair equipment safely and to follow all safety protocols.
Ability to record information using company-provided forms and procedures.
Ability to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as needed.
Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members and management.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.

Nice To Haves

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production.
Repairing and maintaining the operating conditions of the machinery and equipment, and troubleshooting problems that occur in the day-to-day operation of the facility.
Performing work involving hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanics in general, as well as some welding.
Setting up, adjusting, and breaking down production line machinery and completing daily documentation, as required.
Ensuring safety, including personal safety and food safety.
Complying with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reporting known or suspected violations.
Attending monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT).
Using basic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and complete training.
Reading manuals to repair equipment safely and following all safety protocols.
Recording information using company-provided forms and procedures.
Reporting to work as scheduled and working scheduled hours to meet job expectations, having flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and working weekends and overtime, as needed.
Working professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicating effectively with all team members and management.
