About The Position

UPS is hiring a Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) mechanic, also described as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, to maintain equipment and help keep a package-handling facility operating efficiently and effectively. The work is fast-paced and involves routine interaction with other hub employees. The facility is located at 12400 W Bluemound Road, Elm Grove, WI 53122. The operation runs 24 x 7, and candidates must be available for first, second, or third shift. The position requires a strong electrical background and passing an electrical assessment.

Requirements

Strong hands-on electrical experience and background.
Must pass an electrical assessment.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
Must be available to work first, second, or third shift in a 24 x 7 operation.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment, including batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo-driven equipment, photoelectric devices, transducers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and encoders.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components, including motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace pneumatic equipment, including diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace hydraulic equipment, including hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
Weld equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package-handling equipment, carts, and grating, as defined by the scope of work.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment, including conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.
