This position is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all plant equipment and for performing the maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds. In addition, persons in this classification set up equipment as needed in their area(s).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associate degree in Industrial Technology or related certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • May have to complete all training and education specified in the company’s maintenance training program.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and maintaining all records associated with the work performed, including work orders, purchase orders, inventory records and all associated computer database inputs.
  • Keeping their work area clean and orderly at all times following the 5S principles.
  • Supporting 5S Lean practices: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Creating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic circuits.
  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing PLC programs and associated equipment.
  • Providing suggestions during incident investigations.
  • Helping maintain spare parts list and working with internal supplier to manage list.
  • Reading technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
  • Disassembling machinery and equipment when there is a problem.
  • Repairing or replacing broken or malfunctioning components.
  • Performing tests and running initial batches to make sure that the machine is running smoothly.
  • Detecting minor problems by performing basic diagnostic tests.
  • Testing malfunctioning machinery to determine whether major repairs are needed.
  • Adjusting and calibrating equipment and machinery to optimal specifications.
  • Cleaning and lubricating equipment or machinery.
  • Moving machinery and equipment.
