The Industrial Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC and manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, and related production machinery. This position produces precision metal and industrial components according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality specifications while maintaining safety, productivity, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience operating CNC mills and lathes required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment accurately.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of machining experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of G-code and CNC programming preferred.
  • Technical school or machining certification preferred.
  • Experience with Victor V-Turn 36 Lathe, Doosan Puma 200 Lathe, Haas VF -2 Mill.
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, and manual machining equipment.
  • Load materials, tooling, and programs into machines.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Adjust offsets, speeds, feeds, and tooling as needed.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T symbols, and work instructions.
  • Manufacture precision components from raw materials including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty alloys.
  • Perform drilling, tapping, boring, threading, milling, turning, and finishing operations.
  • Deburr and finish machined components as required.
  • Inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and height gauges.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or quality issues.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Replace worn tooling and machine components as necessary.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or repair needs to supervision or maintenance personnel.
  • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S or lean manufacturing practices.
  • Safely handle raw materials, cutting fluids, and finished products.
