The CNC Machinist role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce components and products that meet quality and safety standards. This role involves quality inspections, adherence to safety protocols, maintaining production documentation, and collaboration with team members and supervisors. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and the company does not offer sponsorship for employment visa status.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Familiarity with machining techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to use machining equipment, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively.
  • Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards.
  • Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.
  • Ability to handle parts and tools with precision.
  • Perform repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands.
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate basic CNC functions following detailed instructions and established procedures on CNC equipment to cut, punch, form, drill, pulse, spin, mill and stamp, to produce metal parts and components per design and drawing specifications required for subassemblies or finished products.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as loading/unloading parts, attaching components, and operating hand tools.
  • Conduct basic equipment checks to ensure tools and machines are operational and report any issues.
  • Follow written or verbal step-by-step instructions for machine setup and operation.
  • Perform routine quality inspections using basic measurement tools (e.g., rulers, tape measures) to ensure product quality.
  • Identify and segregate defective parts for supervisor review and maintain accurate records of production counts and defects.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and report potential safety hazards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly store tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to address challenges and improve processes.
  • Ability to cross-train and work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
