About The Position

We are seeking an Industrial Insulation & Fabrication Technician to join our federal team at our York, PA location. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and organized 6S environment. Responsible for participating in continuous improvement and Lean Kaizen Events. Understanding the criticality of proper quality-controlled documentation. Knowledge and proficiency in print reading. Responsible for operating overhead/jib cranes and rigging of products. Responsible for reviewing and signing timecards weekly. Accountable for adhering to and promoting compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Requirements

  • 2-years of experience in mechanical insulation or building trades (Preferred)
  • Attention to detail, follow detailed instructions.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret a measuring tape accurately to measure and cut out materials.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organized 6S environment.
  • Participating in continuous improvement and Lean Kaizen Events.
  • Understanding the criticality of proper quality-controlled documentation.
  • Operating overhead/jib cranes and rigging of products.
  • Reviewing and signing timecards weekly.
  • Adhering to and promoting compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols.
  • Working from complex mechanical, piping, and isometric drawings.
  • Producing products from prints, standard work, and routers.
  • Working from engineering standards.
  • Working with cross-functional teams.
  • Documenting Quality-Controlled Inspections (QCI).
  • Performing mathematical fabrication to accurately obtain values.
  • Performing precision work for high-quality repeatability.
  • Measuring, cutting & fitting to round, flat surfaces.
  • Beveling, Miter, Fish Mouth cuts.
  • Layout and cutting insulation for minimum waste.
  • Installing insulation using pin welder or banding.
  • Applying glue and lagging in some situations.
  • Caulking seams.
  • Layout for minimum waste for thermal insulation.
  • Attaching thermal insulation per requirements using glue adhesive.
  • Attaching insulation to fit round and flat surfaces.
  • Applying lagging cloth utilizing Vimasco adhesive or 520 adhesive as required.
  • Applying fire retardant paint to lagging cloth per print requirements.
  • Applying dampening tiles with two-part epoxy as required.
  • Cutting and applying tubular insulation as required.
  • Applying lagging cloth per print requirements for tubular insulation.
  • Applying lagging cloth utilizing Vimasco adhesive or 520 adhesive as required for tubular insulation.
  • Applying fire retardant paint to lagging cloth per print requirements for tubular insulation.
