About The Position

RGNext employees execute and report on theater and strategic offensive and defensive ballistic missile testing and support space situational awareness operations and experiments, using a wide array of highly sophisticated radar, telemetry and optical sensors to meet the needs of our nation in defending the United States and its interests. This overseas position is located on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodation or pets). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline, or experience in lieu of education.
  • Five (5) years of related EHS experience.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems by: actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources; consistently looking for novel ways to solve problems; mastering unfamiliar information, tasks and situations quickly and effectively.
  • Possess and/or obtain and maintain instructor qualification of the following: Hazard communications/exposure assessment training, OSHA general Industry/Construction standards
  • Working knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, rules and regulations with proficiency in applying them to programs & projects.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and data management skills, decision-making capability with ability to work independently & in a team.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point & TEAMS.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE.
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Ability to travel by boat, helicopter, or plane to work at remote sites on outer islands with limited facilities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Garrison - Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate exposure to various workplace health hazards including airborne contaminants, noise, temperature extremes, and ergonomic stressors. Identifies potential health concerns and completes industrial hygiene sampling to quantify exposures when appropriate.
  • Develop recommendations to control health hazards to ensure the well-being of employees and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manages assigned EHS and Industrial Hygiene programs. Provide implementation guidance to RGNext personnel affected by program requirements and develops necessary training materials and tools.
  • Evaluate exposure to determine program applicability. Assist in developing appropriate control measures, and ensure medical surveillance is provided in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Strategically develop and maintain a comprehensive approach to the management of specific substances such as lead, silica, noise, heat stress, ionizing radiation, cadmium, carcinogens, and other materials individually regulated by OSHA, ACGIH, and the AR 385-10.
  • Evaluate associated exposures, creates training materials, and assists in the development of standard operating procedures for the safe handling of these materials.
  • Review construction and modification plans for ventilation systems, gas monitoring systems, and other installations designed to control potential health exposures. Provide related consultation and recommendations to architects, engineers, and maintenance personnel to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Routinely assess program metrics to identify new performance goals and training opportunities.
  • Manage data and calibration processes associated with assigned programs and ensure that records are maintained in accordance with regulatory and RGNext requirements.
  • Serve as a team lead in responding to incidents that create potential health hazards and coordinate with EHS staff, site leadership, and contractors. Supports emergency team preparedness and reviews responses.
  • Utilize specialized personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators and industrial hygiene monitoring equipment, enters hazardous environments, and conducts cleanup and decontamination activities to remediate hazardous material spills when necessary.
  • Perform respiratory fit testing and associated occupational medical surveillance programs for employees.
  • Assist other EHS staff and provides services to other EHS programs as needed.
  • Manage, assist or deliver training program requirements to include internal and contracted training (e.g., develop/deliver/track).
  • Assist in budget development, purchase requisitions/ordering & tracking.
  • Provide support for work scope review, environmental programs, ISO quality program/quality auditing, and USAV Worthy safety representation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
