About The Position
This official program offers an exciting, fun, and meaningful work experience for a 2026 Summer Intern in the Industrial Hygiene-Environmental Department. Interns will work alongside bright minds and state-of-the-art technology in the environmental consulting industry. The program provides opportunities for technical advancement and professional development, with assigned leaders/mentors to assist with career planning and skill development. Interns will learn how the business interacts with clients and the fundamentals of consulting. Terracon provides 40-hour safety training prior to the internship, covering the cost of the online training and the time spent completing it. Interns can participate in a cohort to connect with other interns company-wide, learn about their experiences, and build professional networks. The cohort will present to the executive leadership team at the end of the summer. The role involves both office work and opportunities for field testing, inspection, and other field activities. Experiences will include learning, understanding, and performing services related to field safety, safe work practices, field work capabilities, industrial hygiene sampling procedures, sampling/data collection, and report preparation.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- BS degree in progress in a science or related field (environmental science, biology, chemistry, etc.)
- Less than one year remaining to complete their BS degree
Responsibilities
- Travel as needed
- Perform sample collection
- Provide assistance to other field and/or office personnel
- Assist professional staff on routine tasks
- Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments
