Brookhaven National Laboratory•Ridge, NY
•$101,600 - $125,000•Onsite

About The Position

The Industrial Hygiene Engineer reports to the Industrial Hygiene Program Supervisor in the Safety and Health Services Division and performs routine to moderately complex assignments supporting Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Industrial Hygiene Program. The role applies established Industrial Hygiene principles and practices to evaluate workplace exposures, conduct field surveys, support PPE and respiratory protection activities, and document hazard assessments. The engineer also serves as a subject matter expert and primary contact for laboratory staff in assigned areas. The position provides an intermediate level of independence and requires sound professional judgment. Unusual, highly complex, or programmatic matters receive guidance from the Industrial Hygiene Program Supervisor or senior Industrial Hygiene staff. Work products are reviewed for technical accuracy, completeness, and alignment with Laboratory requirements. This is a fully onsite position at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, New York. The full salary range is $101,600–$125,000 per year; offers depend on the candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience and the internal peer group. The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Uncleared Personal Identity Verification credential. Non-badged personnel, including visitors, must provide REAL-ID-compliant documentation to access the site.
