About The Position

The Industrial Housekeeper keeps client property safe and sanitary by performing routine cleaning tasks assigned by a supervisor or manager. The role is expected to support and integrate Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork into daily work. Work may take place in one or several buildings and involves interacting with personnel with varied roles and backgrounds. Most work is performed in a climate-controlled building. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pay is $13.50 per hour. The position requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing 50 pounds or less, as well as using a backpack vacuum for up to several hours at a time. The employee must be able to stand, squat or stoop, reach, and lift 50 pounds.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED recipient.
At least 18 years of age.
Demonstrated commitment to service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with others.
Initiative and sound judgment in evaluating and responding to situations.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful, time-sensitive situations.
Problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to perform routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing 50 pounds or less.
Ability to use a backpack vacuum for up to several hours at a time.
Ability to stand, squat or stoop, reach, and lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

College or vocational school degree preferred.
Six months or more of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Vacuum using a push or backpack vacuum, sweep, mop, and scrub floors and stairs.
Wipe baseboards that are not blocked by furniture.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and urinals.
Clean and polish countertops, microwaves, coffee makers, and refrigerators in breakrooms.
Restock supplies and refill dispensers in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
Empty trash cans and replace liners, tying liners as needed to fit the cans.
Dust and clean office desks and furniture that are not cluttered.
Clean windowsills, windows, and blinds.
Keep janitorial equipment clean, safe, and operable.
Properly label, dilute, and use chemicals.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
