About The Position

The Industrial Forklift Operator is responsible for unloading and loading all inbound and outbound products, along with moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting product within and throughout the warehouse. This role requires the operator to inspect equipment, record pre-use checks, report any faults, and accurately check delivered quantities and conditions of goods. The operator will complete orders for distribution, ensure product pallets are secured and labeled correctly, and load goods for transportation. They will move stock using a forklift according to instructions, utilize SAP RFID scanning equipment for inventory accuracy, and coordinate with RF monitors. Transporting materials to production while complying with FIFO procedures and operating a low-lift pallet truck for tasks like sea container loading are also key duties. The role includes maintaining a clean work environment for equipment and performing general warehouse duties such as housekeeping, selecting/sorting packaging materials, assisting with stock takes, and supporting CP system implementation and audits. Safely handling gas cylinders, refueling, or managing batteries for the forklift is also part of the responsibilities. Adherence to plant GMP and BRC requirements is mandatory, along with performing any other reasonable duties corresponding to the role.

Requirements

  • Must have 2 or more years forklift experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift is required.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • A basic working knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office, SAP.
  • Ability to function both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - per safety guidelines.
  • Mobility to cover expansive manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering or Technical Degree preferred.
  • Preferred propane, gas, or diesel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading and loading all inbound and outbound products.
  • Moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting product within and throughout the warehouse.
  • Inspecting the technical condition of the Forklift and other handling equipment before starting work.
  • Recording pre-use checks in the provided system or vehicle logbook.
  • Reporting any faults and/or breakdowns of the Forklift.
  • Checking the delivered quantities and condition of the goods, recording data accurately.
  • Unloading goods, packaging, raw materials, and other from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places using FLT.
  • Completing orders for distribution, working to quality standards and provided instructions.
  • Ensuring each product pallet is secured for transit and labeled correctly.
  • Loading goods or other materials onto the truck for transportation.
  • Moving stock/goods using forklift throughout the warehouse according to instructions.
  • Using the SAP RFID scanning system equipment correctly following set orders and assigned tasks.
  • Coordinating to ensure RF monitors are in good working order.
  • Transporting materials to the production department complying with FIFO procedures.
  • Operating low-lift pallet truck whenever there is a need for loading e.g. sea containers.
  • Cleaning fork-Lift-Trucks and other handling equipment in accordance with ISO and BRC standards.
  • Performing general warehouse duties when the forklift is not required, including general housekeeping.
  • Selecting/sorting packaging materials when required and assisting with stock take.
  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of CP systems, including performing internal audits.
  • Safely exchanging fork truck gas cylinders, refilling fuel tank, or replacing/recharging batteries.
  • Adhering to all plant GMP and BRC requirements.
  • Performing any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
