About The Position

Join REIC Rentals as an Industrial Service Technician! You will be the go-to technical expert ensuring our rental equipment performs at its best-whether in our South Plainfield, NJ shop or out in the field. You'll play a vital role in keeping customers up and running by installing, diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and making repairs that exceed expectations. Requirements

  • 3+ years of FIELD technical service experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and apply electrical schematics & blueprints
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and repair skills (diesel AND gas mechanic experience preferred, electrical, and hydraulic a plus)
  • Great communication skills-you can explain technical issues clearly to customers and teammates.
  • A safety-first mindset and proven track record of working responsibly in shop or field settings.
  • A clean driving record to be verified through MVR
  • Must be 21+ years of age

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Universal, CDL or HVAC certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Installing, assembling, and commissioning rental/temporary heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in the shop AND construction and industrial settings-in ALL weather conditions.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
  • Testing, calibrating, and verifying systems for proper functionality, efficiency, and code compliance.
  • Collaborating with project managers, contractors, and team members to meet project deadlines.
  • Providing clear communication and exceptional service to customers regarding system operation.
  • Completing required installation reports and service documentation accurately.
  • Delivering hands-on customer support, including training users on proper equipment care.
  • Traveling to customer sites (a lot of drive time), supporting on-call rotations, and adapting to seasonal overtime as needed.
  • Ensuring all work meets company standards, safety regulations, and local building codes.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and workspaces in safe, efficient condition.
