Industrial Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)
About The Position
We are targeting students completing their sophomore or junior year of college who are interested in working in a dynamic and engaging work environment to participate in our internship program. Elkay interns will apply the skills and knowledge developed in college while contributing to exciting real world projects! The Industrial Engineering Intern will assist the Engineering Manager with various projects to support the manufacturing plant by performing the following duties: Optimizing workflow by process mapping Eliminating bottlenecks to increase efficiencies Redesign/optimization of layouts Conduct line balance review of assembly lines Execution of time studies and standards development The student will gain experience in the day-to-day activities and project work done by a typical industrial engineer. Students completing their freshman year may apply, but we prefer students already into their core curriculum. Requirements
- Students completing their sophomore or junior year working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field strongly preferred
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week
- Ability to work with others, but highly self-motivated to achieve individual tasks efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail a must
- Creative problem-solving skills essential; strong analytical skills desired
- Computer skills including excellent skills with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- AutoCAD Experience Required
- GPA desired: 3.0 or better
Nice To Haves
- Students completing their freshman year may apply, but we prefer students already into their core curriculum.
