About The Position

Kreg Tool is seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The internship lasts approximately 12 weeks from May to August, with flexible start and end dates, and pays a competitive hourly rate. Interns may also receive academic credit through their college or university. The intern will work closely with the engineering team across Kreg’s manufacturing facilities. The role includes projects to analyze and improve manufacturing efficiency and processes involving personnel, materials, machines, and facilities. It calls for leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in a field related to the internship.
Understanding of statistical process control techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

Relevant coursework, projects, or experience.
AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience.
Completion of a Time Studies class.

Responsibilities

Help design and improve assembly-line layouts and flow.
Update facility layouts as changes occur.
Collect and analyze detailed data, including time studies, material flow, and waste analysis.
Work on setup reductions, Kaizen events, and other continuous improvement activities as needed.
Apply statistical methods and root-cause analysis techniques to improve manufacturing processes and develop production standards.
Participate in or lead teams to cost-justify, design, and implement new equipment.
Lead assigned or self-identified projects to eliminate waste and increase process value.
Perform design work as needed to complete projects.
Participate in multiple projects at one time.
Perform other duties as assigned.
