About The Position

The Industrial Engineering Intern will support manufacturing operations at RTX in an onsite role in Coralville, Iowa. The work includes supporting and improving manufacturing processes, assessing production systems and risks, and designing fixtures and tooling for process improvements. The internship also offers opportunities to learn continuous improvement methods, strengthen collaboration and communication skills, adapt to changing environments, and develop leadership capabilities.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
Must be actively enrolled through completion of the internship or co-op session.

Nice To Haves

Strong background in Root Cause Analysis.
Experience with CAD software.

Responsibilities

Support manufacturing processes, including equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, work instructions, procedures, and workflow.
Conduct studies on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory, and production record systems.
Review products and processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks, and collaborate with design teams to incorporate changes that eliminate these risks.
Design and 3D print fixtures and tooling to support process improvements.
Independently resolve complex and challenging problems.
Develop tactical plans to address day-to-day challenges.
