About The Position

The Lockheed Martin facility in Lufkin, TX is seeking a self-starting and team-oriented Industrial Engineer to support our World Class Electronic Manufacturing facility. In this role, the selected candidate will apply advanced Industrial Engineering techniques to perform the following: Effectively apply traditional Industrial Engineering techniques and disciplines. Perform labor, efficiency and capacity analyses as well as standard data development. Identify and provide justification for required resources (capital, equipment, tools, etc.) based on analysis of production flow and capacity. Analyze HPU variance and trends for assigned area(s) to identify and address opportunities for improvement. Analyze and improve production layouts to be optimal for current and future production rates. Evaluate and improve material handling methods in assigned area(s). Facilitate continuous improvement activities. Lufkin Operations facility was established in 1995 and became an integral part of the Lockheed Martin family in 1997. Its approximately 300+ employees perform circuit card assembly, wire harness assembly and final assembly, integration and testing for several missile programs. Lufkin is the regional hub of East Texas, which includes 12 surrounding counties. It is best known for its vast pine tree forests that stretch for miles and the lakes and other waterways that provide great fishing and recreational activities. Local residents have an easy commute to and from Lufkin and have access to larger cities such as Dallas, Houston and Shreveport, LA. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize assignments
  • Experience in data analyses and metric reporting
  • Experience performing capacity analyses
  • Experience in creating or modifying production layouts utilizing AutoCAD or similar software
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Trained in Lean Six Sigma tools and practices
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • The candidate must be a US citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience in a production environment with knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes in a factory environment
  • Experience creating and modifying Simulations using Simio software
  • Experience developing process maps
  • Skilled in problem-solving techniques and methods
  • Experience with SAP and familiarity with Apriso
  • Familiarity with MFC products and processes
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified
