Industrial Engineer - Position Charter The Industrial Engineer optimizes Tosoh’s production systems by building and optimizing workflow and capacity models to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality. The Industrial Engineer champions Lean manufacturing methodologies to reduce cost and maximize efficiency. Position Profile Exempt / Full-time Reporting Relationships The Industrial Engineer reports to the Senior Director of Engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering field or equivalent.
  • Expert knowledge of industrial engineering in manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated competence Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and time study methodologies.
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex systems and data.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes current processes to identify gaps and waste.
  • Develops and implements time study processes and programs and trains operations team to support continuous improvement.
  • Analyzes data using statistical methods and simulation to optimize material flow, equipment utilization, and labor resources.
  • Builds process models to balance workflow and job content to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
  • Builds adaptive manufacturing capacity models to optimize production schedules for on-time delivery of products with balanced resources.
  • Develops decision making tools for use by operations team in scheduling resource workloads and priorities.
  • Champions Lean Six Sigma competencies with training, coaching, and project mentoring.
  • Serves as manufacturing process lead on MES and Industry 4.0 implementation projects.
  • Supports cost-benefit analysis of new equipment, materials, and processes for maximum return on investment.
  • Supports design of workstations and job content to improve human-machine interaction, to ensure safety and ergonomics, and protect product quality.
  • Understands and adheres to all safety requirements.
  • Communicates identified risks to leadership and assists in resolution.
  • Completes all 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct.
  • Maintains a positive attitude, displays enthusiasm for assigned tasks, and communicates effectively and professionally with team members.
