The Industrial Engineer analyzes inventory levels, material flow, equipment capacities, and overall manufacturing performance. The role supports, assesses, and improves manufacturing systems to reduce cost and cycle time while increasing productivity and throughput. At Level I, the engineer determines actions to support production targets for output, cycle time, productivity, cost, and book dates; assesses individual fab-tool capacity and the effects of process or machine-state changes; and evaluates shipment schedules and needed actions when shipments are behind schedule. Starting pay is $30.54 per hour. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and placement within the role.

  • Maintain equipment-capacity documentation.
  • Determine whether material for an order will be available for shipment by its due date.
  • Determine actions that facilitate production outcomes and achievement of output, cycle-time, productivity, cost, and book-date targets.
  • Determine capacity of individual fab tools and assess how process or machine-state changes affect capacity.
  • Evaluate whether shipments are on time and determine actions for shipments that are not on schedule.
