About The Position

HyAxiom is seeking an Industrial Engineer to design, optimize, and scale production systems, layouts, and workflows. The role combines lean manufacturing tools and data analytics to eliminate waste, reduce costs, and support a sustainable manufacturing environment. The position is based at the company’s main manufacturing headquarters in South Windsor, Connecticut, and the company seeks candidates within commuting distance.

The Industrial Engineer will plan facility and warehouse layouts, support material flow and ergonomics, source and install equipment, maintain process documentation, contribute to budgeting, and recommend improvements to manufacturing operations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
• Experience in process development.
• Experience developing manufacturing or warehouse layouts in AutoCAD.
• Adaptability to complete varied tasks as business needs change.
• Education in Industrial Engineering is preferred; Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Industrial Engineering is also relevant.

Nice To Haves

• Basic experience with PTC Creo or 3-D modeling.
• Experience with Microsoft products.
• Experience with factory simulation software.

Responsibilities

• Plan efficient facility and warehouse floor layouts to optimize material flow and ergonomics.
• Design factory layouts for heavy machinery, overhead lifting systems, rigging setups, and high-capacity material-handling equipment.
• Research, source, and install equipment to support evolving design requirements.
• Create and maintain process documentation, including flow charts, standard operating procedures, manufacturing instructions, and instruction sheets.
• Provide analysis, input, and support for the budget process.
• Work with management and engineering staff to implement improvements, including workspace design, production-line optimization, and waste-reduction initiatives.
• Prepare cost-benefit analyses and present recommendations to management.
