As a Senior Industrial Engineer at Centrus Energy, you’ll play a key role in optimizing production operations at our Technology and Manufacturing Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. From improving process flow and reducing waste to supporting product launches and scaling manufacturing performance, you’ll help drive operational excellence in a high-tech, mission-critical environment where innovation and efficiency go hand in hand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial, or related engineering discipline
  • Five or more years of manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering experience
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems such as NQA-1, ISO, or AS9100
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with composites manufacturing
  • Familiarity with AIAG Core Tools
  • Experience performing statistical analysis and interpreting production data
  • Project management experience supporting manufacturing or production initiatives
  • Experience supporting safety-significant or license-driven manufacturing systems
  • Centrifuge manufacturing experience
  • Currently possesses a “Q” or “L” clearance

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing operations by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and reduce waste across the production environment.
  • Lead initiatives involving plant layout optimization, staffing strategies, process improvements, and value stream mapping to improve availability, performance, and quality metrics.
  • Support product launches, supply chain logistics, and manufacturing planning activities.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes that meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure manufacturing systems remain efficient, scalable, and compliant with industry standards.
