Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial automation, controls systems, and continuous improvement methodologies in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of conveyors, sortation systems, and material handling equipment
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support automation solutions across sortation, distribution, and logistics operations.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to improve throughput, reliability, cost efficiency, and safety across automated systems.
  • Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions for sortation systems, conveyors, scanners, and related equipment.
  • Support system commissioning, testing, and validation to ensure projects meet design specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Provide technical support for automation-related issues across hub and terminal operations.
  • Lead root cause analysis for system failures, downtime events, and performance gaps.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Identify and execute process optimization opportunities.
  • Drive initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance system reliability.
  • Support pilot programs and scaling of new automation technologies.
  • Analyze system performance data to increase uptime and throughput.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including system diagrams, specifications, and SOPs.
  • Establish and promote engineering and safety standards across facilities.
  • Ensure all automation systems meet OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments related to automated equipment.
