As an Industrial Engineer II, you’ll play a key role in driving operational efficiency across the Dexter site. You will analyze and optimize manufacturing workflows, production layouts, and sequencing of operations to improve throughput, maximize equipment and labor utilization, and support a safe, high-performing environment. Leveraging data and structured problem-solving, you’ll conduct studies related to cost control, inventory optimization, and production systems, translating insights into actionable improvements. This role also partners closely with cross-functional teams to implement process changes, support facility planning and layout design, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance both operational performance and employee safety. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated environments (GMP, QSR, ISO)
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Medtronic Operating System (MOS) principles
  • Experience with time studies, capacity planning, and labor optimization (or related analysis)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support cross-functional process improvements
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Minitab)
  • Background in statistical process control (SPC), DOE, or advanced statistical analysis for process optimization.
  • Hands‑on experience optimizing production layouts, material flow, or plant‑level efficiency models.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards for data analysis and performance monitoring

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements optimized manufacturing flow and assembly operations using Lean Manufacturing principles, and designs capacity throughput model using statistical analysis and simulation tools
  • Leads and facilitates production and support teams on structured problem solving methodologies, including 8D, DMAIC, PDCA, and 5 Why analysis, to drive sustainable continuous improvement.
  • Deploys and supports Visual Management and Tier Bords in production environments
  • Supports the design and implementation of focused factory manufacturing flows within an FDA regulated environment, ensuring alignment with GMP and quality system requirements
  • Analyzes labor and overhead drivers to support manufacturing cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.
