Industrial Engineer Co-op (Spring 2027)
About The Position
Powerex-Iwata Air Technology Inc., a part of Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineer CO-OP to join their Operations and Quality teams for Spring 2027. This role is designed for students looking to gain hands-on experience in industrial engineering practices, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and ensuring quality standards. As a CO-OP, you will work closely with the Operations and Quality Assurance teams to support ongoing projects, analyze processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The co-op will involve working in office, engineering lab, and assembly line/manufacturing environments. Success in this role requires openness to a variety of activities supporting the Operations and Quality teams and embracing new challenges.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with engineering software is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing existing manufacturing and operational processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with team members to develop, document, and implement process enhancements.
- Collect and analyze data related to operational performance and quality metrics.
- Utilize statistical and engineering tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving for quality-related issues.
- Support the Quality Assurance team in conducting inspections and audits.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams to support various initiatives and projects.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- Assist in the implementation of Lean methodologies.
