About The Position

Leidos is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician to join their team at the Vista, CA facility, supporting the Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) Operations division. Leidos SES designs and manufactures advanced detection technologies for security applications. The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the rapid manufacturing of sub-assemblies and finished systems, including cables, harnesses, panels, mechanical assemblies, or large system builds. This role also involves system troubleshooting and diagnostics, interacting with test technicians and engineering to resolve technical issues. The technician will need to comprehend assembly documentation, safely utilize required tooling, operate material handling equipment, record system information, adhere to company policies, and interact positively with team members. Some finished systems may be large, requiring the ability to physically maneuver around the product. The ideal candidate will be a positive, energetic, self-motivating individual ready to learn and contribute.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing or research and development (R&D)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of education
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required)
  • Comfortable working with heights (15+ feet) & working outside with varying weather conditions
  • Active driver’s license required
  • ESD Awareness
  • Average computer skills used for daily employee tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Current or expired certification in any of the following: IPC 620, 610, 7711, 7721, or J-standard

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot technical issues with varying levels of complexity
  • Have a working knowledge of electrical theory and signal processing
  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, and other production related documentation
  • Solder wires, PCBA’s, and components
  • Utilize a combination of basic hand tools and power tools
  • Utilize measuring tools such as multi-meters, continuity checker, Oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Provide assembly feedback and suggested changes or improvements
  • Complete build records and documentation as required
  • Conducts quality checks on own work and may execute buddy checks on others work
  • Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization utilizing 5S methodologies
  • Follow manufacturing guidelines and procedures
  • Adhere to company regulatory and compliance policies
  • Participate in cross-training activities
