About The Position

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, installing, testing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operation. This position works with 480VAC three‑phase, 120VAC, and low‑voltage DC systems, as well as industrial electrical equipment and control components. The Electrician performs inspections to ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and safety standards, collaborates with other trades during installation and repair activities, and maintains accurate documentation of work performed. Strict adherence to safety policies, including proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), is essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or vocational training in industrial electrical work.
  • Valid journey level industrial or commercial electrician license.
  • 7-10 years Experience in electrical repair and maintenance.
  • 7-10 years Strong background in assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • 7-10 years Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintaining 480VAC 3-phase, 120V AC, and low voltage DC systems.
  • 7-10 years Experience with using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments for electrical work.
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including 480VAC three‑phase, 120VAC, and low‑voltage DC power systems, as well as associated equipment such as transformers, breakers, and control panels.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70) and the ability to apply electrical codes, standards, and regulations to installations, repairs, and inspections.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using test equipment, schematics, and hand tools to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Skill in assembling, installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures in industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and voltage testers.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, arc‑flash awareness, and consistent use of required PPE to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and methodically, ensuring proper connections, secure installations, and compliance with specifications, drawings, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with supervisors, team members, and other trades, while maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs, installations, and maintenance activities and reporting hazards or equipment issues promptly.
  • Possession of a valid journey level industrial or commercial electrical license. Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot 480VAC 3-phase, 120V AC, and low voltage DC systems and industrial electrical equipment to ensure efficient and continuous operation.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand, power, and precision measuring tools.
  • Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify issues and ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components following electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals to plan and execute electrical installations.
  • Observe and follow all safety regulations and policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities, and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Must be able to work any day, including holidays, or any shift and/or overtime as required.
