About The Position

ETC is hiring Industrial Designer interns for summer 2027. This is an on-site position at the company’s Middleton, Wisconsin office. Interns assist in generating a broad variety of design concepts that meet user needs and product specifications. The work may include sketching and renderings, mechanical layouts to assess design feasibility, UI or product-aesthetic mockups, icons and fonts, graphics for overlays, and presentation materials for projects or products. Interns may also perform other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• One to three years of post-high-school education in the area of specialization.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
• Be in junior or senior year, or have taken relevant courses in Industrial Design or a related field.
• Familiarity with rendering tools such as KeyShot or SolidWorks Visualize.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and/or Rhinoceros.
• Submit a portfolio or work sample document.

• Submit a copy of unofficial transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in generating a broad variety of design concepts to satisfy user needs and product specifications.
• Create sketches and/or renderings.
• Develop mechanical layouts to determine design feasibility.
• Create mockups of UI and/or product aesthetics.
• Assist in creating icons and fonts.
• Create graphics for overlays.
• Assist more senior Industrial Designers with project and/or product presentation materials.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
