About The Position

Tradebe is seeking an Industrial Chemical Operator Trainee for its East Chicago, IN facility. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a hands-on industrial career and get paid to learn critical systems that support environmental operations. Over one year, trainees will gain the experience needed to become a certified SDS Operator. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals with equipment or machine operation experience seeking a stable, long-term career path.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Experience with industrial or mechanical equipment preferred
Interest in learning thermal desorption systems
Ability to work rotating shifts and on-site in a physical, hands-on environment
Commitment to following strict safety procedures
Basic computer/data entry skills and proficiency in English (read, write, understand)

Responsibilities

Maintain EHS compliance and promote a safe, environmentally responsible workplace
Train on and operate the Solids Distillation System (SDS)
Monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot system controls and components
Log operating data, perform walkthroughs, and load/unload tankers while maintaining unit cleanliness
Support supervisors, follow safety protocols (LOTO, confined space, hot work), and complete certification after one year
