About The Position

Bearing Maintenance performs daily maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and relocation of chocks, bearings, and lubrication components to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate a chock washer
  • Ability to run jib and overhead cranes
  • Ability to use micrometers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, and PI tape
  • Ability to operate chock flipper
  • Ability to identify the different type of chocks and locations
  • Ability to understand the chock ID system
  • Understand the build-up of the different chocks to corresponding rolls
  • Willingness to work shifts or be called out for repairs
  • Ability to read prints and interpret the correct tolerances to be set
  • Ability to understand and repair different types of lubrication systems(REBS, Morgoil)

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and relocation of chocks, bearings, and lubrication components.
  • Maintain housekeeping in Area Of Responsibility(A.O.R).
  • Fill out inspection paperwork or computer entry into RMS.
  • Communicate with vendors for replacement parts.
  • Create/manage a chock (PM) preventive maintenance program with specific tasks needed to keep the machinery operational.
  • Train new technicians.
