Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prefer 6 months experience as machine operator, will consider equivalent school/training.
- Must be able to perform quality inspections.
- Read precision instruments and gauges.
- Capable use of hand tools.
- Work around overhead cranes and mobile equipment.
- Work as an effective team member.
- Working safely is a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
- Break down, wash, inspect, repair, and assemble train car bearings and components.
- Works with new and used railroad bearings.
- Duties encompass inspecting parts and assembly line type duties to recondition freight car bearings.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Ability to work 1st shift (Mon - Fri 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM) or 2nd shift (Mon - Thurs 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM) with overtime and weekends required.
