Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in a trade or technical field
  • Previous teaching or training experience
  • Familiarity with educational software and technology

  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts Education or a related field

  • Have received Jesus Christ as his/her Savior
  • Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and standard for faith and daily living
  • Be in agreement with school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others.
  • Be a member in good standing at a local church that has a Statement of Faith in significant agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith
  • Show by example the importance of Scripture study and memorization, prayer, witnessing, and unity in the Body of Christ
  • Have the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to “train up a child in the way he should go”
  • Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their children’s education and be prepared to assist them in that task
  • Place his/her teaching ministry ahead of other jobs or volunteer activities
  • Demonstrate a love of children and heart to serve others
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
  • Respectfully submit and be loyal to authority
  • Refuse to use or circulate confidential information inappropriately
  • Avoid gossip and practice Biblical conflict resolution (Matthew 18)

Nice To Haves

  • State-level teacher certification
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in education or a related field
  • Osha 30 certification (for construction trades)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines and educational standards
  • Teach students how to safely and effectively use various tools and machinery
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and exams
  • Maintain classroom equipment and ensure a safe learning environment
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to help students master complex concepts
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to integrate industrial arts education
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements to provide relevant and up-to-date instruction
  • Organize and supervise hands-on projects and practical exercises
  • Encourage creativity and innovation in students’ work
  • Prepare students for careers in technical and trade-related fields through skills training and career guidance
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a positive educational environment
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior
