About The Position

The Academy for Technology and the Classics (ATC) is a grades 7-12 public charter school in Santa Fe, New Mexico, seeking a full-time Spanish Teacher for the 26-27 school year. Requirements

  • Must be licensed to teach in New Mexico and endorsed/highly qualified in the subject areas to which they apply.
  • Pre-service candidates should demonstrate enrollment in/completion of alternative licensure programming that qualifies the candidate for provisional New Mexico licensing.
  • Demonstrate skills in formative assessment and scaffolding/differentiation in lesson demonstrations.
  • Ability to support students with a full range of knowledge, skill, and ability levels in pre-AP and AP courses.
  • Proficiency in the social-emotional dimensions of teaching, building effective relationships and rapport.
  • Proficiency in digital tools for the classroom, including Google suite, interactive whiteboards/peripherals, Canvas (LMS), and PowerSchool.
  • Knowledge of and skill and experience teaching in a comprehensible input model.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum development and implementation for all assigned courses, ensuring students are meaningfully engaged in rigorous learning from bell to bell. Lesson plans submitted weekly and assignments posted to Canvas.
  • Assessment design and analysis for all assigned courses, using informal and formal assessments to inform students, faculty, and families of academic progress and individual needs. Grades updated weekly.
  • Student advisory, including planning and implementation of the College Crew class, to support students in attaining college and career readiness.
  • Parent/family engagement and communication, including weekly contact as needed for concerns regarding attendance and academics, and utilizing digital communication tools for course expectations and progress.
  • Professional collaboration and learning, participating in professional learning, departmental, and grade-level team meetings, with weekly participation in collaborative planning.
  • Personalized learning and support for all students in a rigorous, college prep environment, collaborating with IEP teams, case managers, and EL support staff to implement individualized education plans.
  • Co-curricular and extra-curricular engagement with students, typically sponsoring or supervising activities three times per week during flexible learning time.
  • Assisting in the orderly operation of the school, equitably applying and adhering to school policies/procedures, and performing supervisory duties weekly.
