About The Position

Owen Health Care Inc. is seeking a part-time Individual Support Worker to support children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role involves traveling to clients’ homes and working in home and community settings, assisting behavioral therapists with individualized behavioral therapy programs, and building relationships with clients’ families and collaborating professionals. The position focuses on providing compassionate, client-focused care and promoting the emotional and social growth of the youth served.

Requirements

A college degree and one year of experience, or a High School Diploma/GED and at least three years of supervised experience implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with children and their families.
Ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting children and adolescents.

Responsibilities

Assist behavioral therapists in creating behavioral therapy programs tailored to children and adolescents.
Implement individualized service plans.
Provide behavioral interventions in home and community settings.
Actively manage youth with behavioral challenges.
Develop and initiate safety standards and instruct youth in positive behavioral practices.
Monitor and document observations of youth behavior.
Modify daily activities as needed to align with therapeutic goals.
Develop and implement recreational activities that support youth emotional and social growth.
Maintain a clean and secure environment.
