About The Position

Owen Health Care Inc. is seeking part-time Individual Support Workers to support children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Workers travel to clients’ homes and provide support in home and community settings, collaborating with behavioral therapists, families, and other professionals. The role focuses on implementing individualized service plans and behavioral interventions, maintaining a safe and supportive environment, and encouraging positive behavior and emotional and social growth through appropriate activities.

Requirements

College degree and one year of experience, or a High School Diploma/GED and at least three years of supervised experience implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with children and families.
Ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting children and adolescents.
Prior experience in behavioral interventions.

Responsibilities

Assist behavioral therapists in creating behavioral therapy programs tailored to children and adolescents.
Implement individualized service plans.
Provide behavioral interventions in home and community settings.
Support and manage youth experiencing behavioral challenges.
Develop and initiate safety standards and maintain a safe, supportive environment.
Teach youth positive behavioral practices.
Observe and document youth behavior and adjust daily activities to align with therapeutic goals.
Develop and implement recreational activities that support emotional and social growth.
Ensure the youth have a clean and secure environment.
