About The Position

We also operate Alaska 211, the statewide information and referral service that connects Alaskans to health and human services resources and tells us in real time what's not working for families. The Individual Donor Engagement Officer supports UWA's individual donor program, helping build and maintain donor relationships and executing stewardship, correspondence, and campaign activities under the direction of the Vice President of Development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in fundraising, sales, customer relations, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Andar (CRM) or a comparable donor database, or willingness to learn

Responsibilities

  • Support the Vice President of Development in maintaining a portfolio of individual and leadership level donors, including tracking contacts and next steps in assigned segments (Patron, Leadership, Alexis de Tocqueville Society, Loyal, Diamond, and Retiree).
  • Coordinate closely with the Vice President of Development on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities for donors in the assigned portfolio.
  • Conduct prospect research to help identify new individual donors.
  • Identify and help re-engage lapsed individual donors, developing approaches to reactivate dormant relationships.
  • Draft donor correspondence, thank you letters, and stewardship materials for review and approval by the Vice President of Development.
  • Serve as the point person for planning and executing donor cultivation and recognition events, working within the strategy, budget, and guest priorities set by the Vice President of Development.
  • Support the Vice President of Development, President and CEO, and Board members before, during, and after donor cultivation and solicitation visits, including briefing materials, talking points, scheduling, and post-visit follow up and stewardship.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to donor and community audiences that connect UWA's work to individual giving.
  • Assist with execution of UWA's annual individual giving campaign, including digital appeals and direct outreach.
  • Maintain accurate and current donor records in Andar (CRM), including gifts, communications, and follow up notes.
  • Track portfolio and campaign data and share observations that inform the Vice President's individual giving strategy.
  • Work with the Vice President of Development to provide input into the annual individual giving plan, budget, and revenue forecast, contributing portfolio data and campaign figures.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration and peer knowledge sharing within the Development team and across UWA departments, contributing to shared best practices without directing other staff.
  • Support grant writing activities as directed by the Vice President of Development.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
