About The Position

The Donor Engagement Manager collaborates with the Chief Advancement Officer. The Donor Engagement Manager directs and administers all aspects of annual fund giving to include face-to-face and phone solicitation, direct mail fundraising, online fundraising, donor database maintenance, donor acknowledgement and stewardship, and gift processing and financial reporting. This position will play a critical role in planning and implementing a comprehensive annual fund program to broaden donor base, upgrade the average size of donation, and increase donor retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive software skills are required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Raisers Edge donor software.
  • Experience designing in Adobe Creative Suite and on Canva.com.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are mandatory, including attention to spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both in person and on the phone.
  • Ability to set priorities, multi-task and complete numerous projects simultaneously and timely.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and supporters.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be held accountable.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, fundraising databases, Raiser’s Edge, email, internet, presentation software applications, Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, Canva, and Slack.
  • FCADV Competency-Based Core training plus an additional 6 hours of individualized training (30 hours total) to qualify for privilege status; must successfully pass written test
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License, active automobile insurance and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report. Must have two years of driving experience.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Level II background check
  • Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge Professionals Certification strongly preferred.
  • Must have ability to lead with confidence and minimal supervision.
  • Requires good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must have an understanding of domestic violence issues.
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential material, flexibility and tolerance for others is required.
  • High ethical and professional standards, sound judgement and ability to function independently are required.
  • Strong presentation skills are required. Public speaking expected.
  • Will occasional be asked to provide staffing at the donation center/thrift operation.
  • Must be able to work harmoniously with participants, volunteers, staff and public.
  • Must have a reliable car, active auto insurance and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all data activities inside Raiser's Edge.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records in Raiser's Edge, including constituent records, daily gift entry, donor acknowledgments, queries and reports, actions, and other donor communications.
  • Manage all aspects of gift processing including data entry, acknowledgments, honor/memorials, and consistent reconciliation with finance.
  • Following nonprofit, IRS, and internal best practices to maintain accurate information and documentation.
  • Oversee the preparation of fundraising dashboards.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate strategies that lead department to sound donor cultivation, prospecting, segmenting, and acknowledgement, recognition, and stewardship goals.
  • Constant management for the augmentation/clean-up of existing data sources and ensure constituent data is current.
  • Responsible for preparing Development Fund reports.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward assigned pool of managed prospects.
  • Utilize Raiser’s Edge to track visits, produce contact notes, and conduct appropriate constituent follow-up.
  • Train and support Raiser's Edge users on established data-entry standards, running basic queries, creating mailing lists, running reports and donor letters.
  • Establish system settings and set security options for different Raiser's Edge user groups.
  • Develop and update policy and procedures to protect the integrity and to maintain the quality of all databases.
  • Generate requested data, mailing list, reports and analyses.
  • Act as a liaison between development and accounting to coordinate action tagging, gift processing, tracking and reporting of development initiatives.
  • To encourage renewals and upgrades create, implement, and evaluate the organization’s annual fund campaign, including direct mailings, e-communications, social media pushes, reports, pledge reminders, acknowledgement letters, and other relevant correspondence.
  • Analyze results of annual fund initiatives.
  • Develop annual funding priorities and write funding proposals.
  • Produce and distribute the Annual Investment Report.
  • Support Development team in social media and other marketing, mailings, special events, and other relationship building initiatives.
  • Work with development staff to plan a stewardship strategy for donors and volunteers which would include at least 4 touchpoints a year.
  • Maintain a “wish list” of in-kind donation needs.
  • Seek and distribute donated in-kind items to all programs.
  • Managing the flow of donated goods into the Administrative building by moving them to shelter/coordinating the facilities team to do so, or scheduling a pickup by the Donation Center truck.
  • Work with groups and individual volunteers to solicit donation needs.
  • Provide frontline stewardship by answering phones, responding/distributing emails, greeting visitors, and providing administrative support.
  • Assess and assign staff for speaking engagements based on need. When needed, be the speaker for fundraising, advocacy, or development focused events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Accurately maintains development reports in conjunction with the Chief Advancement Officer and the Finance Department, as well as statistical data.
  • Creates goodwill among donors, volunteers, prospects and the public.
  • Helps to raise awareness, generate funds and engage the community.
  • Manages flow of donated goods received at the administration building, as well as collateral materials promoting the agency.
  • Supervisory responsibility for interns and volunteers.
