About The Position

Mid American Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution focused on serving members by providing a safe place to save and borrow at reasonable rates. The Indirect Loan Officer makes lending decisions, communicates with indirect auto dealers, develops dealer relationships, obtains and verifies loan information and documentation, and assists with processing and funding indirect loans. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Great attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Organizational skills.
Positive, professional demeanor and punctuality.
Ability to lift 10 pounds.
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and walk while performing job duties.

Responsibilities

Make sound lending decisions based on underwriting policies and documentation requirements.
Communicate effectively with indirect auto dealers throughout the loan process.
Develop and expand relationships with current and potential indirect dealers.
Obtain information and documentation as needed to build solid auto loans.
Build knowledge of the lending process and stay current on applicable policy and procedure changes.
Attend lending training as necessary or assigned by leadership to stay informed about industry trends.
Complete required annual credit union training regarding Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud, BSA, and related topics.
Assist with processing indirect dealer funding packages received by mail and electronically.
Verify information and documents for accuracy and prepare packets for funding.
Assist with funding loan documents in the system as needed.
