The Faculty of Arts is seeking an Indigenous Artist, Writer, Musician, or Knowledge-Keeper in Residence. This residency aims to support Indigenous knowledge in research and the creation of new works across various fields such as governance, health, pedagogy, sustainability, literary composition, spoken word, filmmaking, music, visual arts, performance, and interdisciplinary creative practices. Residents will balance their personal projects with contributions to the Faculty of Arts. The program fosters community engagement, dialogue, creativity, and intercultural communication, aligning with KPU's commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Actions and supporting Indigenous writers. Residents will be paid $7,000 per month, with additional funding for KPU-specific events and general support. Applicants with a specialization in healing through culture or wellness are encouraged.
