About The Position

The Independent Living Supervisor will lead the Post-Secondary Education Services and Support (PESS) Specialist, Housing Specialist, and Aftercare Reengagement Specialists. This role will oversee the coordination and delivery of services for eligible young adults, ages 18-23, who have transitioned from licensed foster care or are in need of short-term emergency assistance. The supervisor will ensure these young adults receive the necessary support in areas such as life skills training, community outreach, system navigation, and referrals to meet their emotional, physical, behavioral, and mental health needs. Key responsibilities will include ensuring appropriate living arrangements for young adults in the PESS program that supports personal development while providing guidance and continued education. Additionally, the supervisor will lead efforts to outreach and establish partnerships with housing providers to secure suitable housing for young adults enrolled in post-18 programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least three years’ experience coordinating projects, working with community partners and managing staff.
  • Minimum three years’ experience working in the child welfare system work with high-risk youth.
  • Experience working with youth and young adults preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Child Welfare Certification

  • Provide a copy of all degrees prior to your first day of employment
  • Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check and must be insurable under the company’s automobile policy.
  • Provide copy of automobile insurance.
  • Provide proof of and maintain a minimum personal auto liability insurance level $100,000/$300,000 if deemed to be a driving risk.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the progress of young adults in the program, making adjustments to services as needed to meet individual needs and goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, including progress reports and case notes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and best practices in the delivery of independent living services.
