About The Position
Project Genesis, Inc. is seeking compassionate and reliable Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILST) to join their Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) team in Hartford, CT. This role involves working one-on-one with individuals to help them rebuild life skills, gain confidence, and live more independently. Project Genesis is a mission-driven nonprofit that values its team and is dedicated to empowering adults with disabilities.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record.
- Verifiable Experience with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI): 2 years with a high school diploma or equivalent, OR 1 year with a bachelor’s degree.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as daily routines, budgeting, cooking, and communication.
- Provide non-medical care, supervision, and socialization based on each client’s personalized service plan.
- Encourage, guide, and celebrate progress — big and small!
