Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a freight broker, independent freight agent, or dispatcher.
- 2+ years of experience managing your own book of business effectively.
- At least one active shipper customer with consistent load activity.
- Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics industry standards and regulations, including experience moving freight within U.S./Canada/Mexico lanes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with experience negotiating contracts with shippers and carriers.
- Experience managing direct shipper relationships and carrier relationships.
- Experience providing ongoing customer communication about loads and issues.
- Familiarity with freight management software, including load boards such as DAT or Truckstop, a transportation management system (TMS), and carrier onboarding and tracking tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Based in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Cradle to grave brokerage MC handling
- Identify and establish relationships with new and existing shippers and carriers.
- Negotiate freight rates and contracts to maximize profitability.
- Coordinate and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, contracts, and communications.
- Resolve any issues or delays in freight transportation promptly.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand your freight brokerage business.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
