About The Position

Havenside Construction Group seeks established, independent construction contractors for project-based residential renovation and accessibility work in the Pittsburgh area. Contractors may work on bathrooms, kitchens, flooring, exterior stairs, pathways, and accessibility installations that help homeowners move safely in and around their homes. Engagement is as an independent contractor (1099), not as an employee, and compensation is negotiated per project scope. Contractors operate their own businesses and control their work methods, sequencing, and staffing. Each accepted project has a written scope that defines work, materials, milestones, budget, documentation, and acceptance criteria. Contractors complete the work safely, on schedule, within budget, to applicable code, and to documented quality standards. Havenside handles scheduling; contractors work within agreed deadlines, site access, safety requirements, inspections, and coordination with other trades. The Installation Manager is the contact for scope clarifications, change approvals, client escalations, and acceptance of completed work, and does not direct contractors’ day-to-day work. Project work may include site preparation; interpreting plans and scopes; residential renovation; concrete work; accessibility installations; basic electrical and plumbing within the contractor’s qualifications, licensing, and permit requirements; arranging or assisting with heavy equipment; code compliance; site management and cleanup; client communication; project documentation; and guidance to the contractor’s own crew. Contractors supply and maintain their own tools, equipment, and business assets, maintain applicable licenses, registrations, insurance, and legally required workers’ compensation coverage for their personnel, and handle their own business and tax obligations. Work begins after a signed independent contractor agreement and written project scope are in place. Payment is weekly. Contractors do not participate in company employee benefit programs.
