About The Position

Havenside Construction Group is seeking established, independent construction contractors for project-based residential renovation and accessibility work in the Pittsburgh area. Contractors may perform projects involving bathrooms, kitchens, flooring, exterior stairs, pathways, and accessibility installations that help homeowners move safely in and around their homes. Engagement is as an independent contractor (1099), not an employee, with compensation negotiated per project scope. Contractors operate their own businesses and determine their own work methods, staffing, and sequencing. Havenside provides client projects and written scopes specifying the work, materials, milestones, budget, documentation, and acceptance criteria. The Installation Manager is the contact for scope clarification, change approvals, client escalations, and acceptance of completed work, but does not supervise or direct contractors’ day-to-day work. Contractors are expected to complete accepted work safely, on schedule, within budget, to code, and according to Havenside’s documented quality standards. They supply and maintain their own tools, equipment, and business assets; maintain applicable licenses, registrations, liability insurance, and legally required workers’ compensation coverage for their personnel; and handle their own business and tax obligations. Work begins only after a signed independent contractor agreement and written project scope are in place. Contractors do not participate in company employee benefit programs. The agreement addresses confidentiality, client information, property protection, changes, acceptance, correction of deficient work, termination, and dispute resolution.
