The primary purpose of this position is taking and processing Emergency Assistance applications. This includes determining eligibility and documenting each application for the Emergency Assistance program, which encompasses CIP, LIEAP, Duke, GA, and WFCA. The role involves completing and submitting check requisitions daily, documenting spending in the appropriate database (including NCFAST), and referring clients to other community agencies when funding is exhausted. The caseworker will maintain an Emergency Assistance manual for programs not housed in NCFAST, use online DHHS manuals for CIP and LIEAP, and record time in the timekeeper system daily. Additionally, the position assists Medicaid and FNS clients with Fishing License waivers, purges the central file room based on record retention schedules, and may be required to staff emergency shelters during community emergencies or disasters, with potentially varying hours.
