About The Position

The Inclusion Support Specialist encourages personal growth through goal-based support and provides daily living support to KIM clients in their homes and in the community. The role motivates and encourages clients toward their goals in line with the Residential Service Guidelines. Part-time and full-time positions are available; the shift is to be determined. Salary is $17.50–$19.00.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Intermediate experience supporting living, preferably with adults with developmental or other disabilities.
At least 18 years of age.
Criminal background check cleared before working alone unsupervised with clients.
Valid driver’s license or state ID.
Ability to follow instructions, organize, and set priorities.
Strong communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking, and reading comprehension.
Ability to engage in critical thinking.

Responsibilities

Help clients use emotional and behavioral regulation techniques outlined in their individual plans.
Help clients achieve personal and program goals and evaluate goal completions and denials.
Assist clients with money management, including petty cash, receipts, checkbooks, and EBTs.
Assist clients with daily hygiene and personal care as outlined in their individual care plans, including brushing teeth, bathing, hair washing, and toileting.
Administer medications correctly and document the activity, including nurse-delegated tasks.
Transport clients to and from activities and appointments, and arrange transportation services as appropriate.
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly forms, reports, and data sheets.
Supervise clients’ daily activities and living conditions to ensure adequate health and safety.
Assist clients with cooking and eating meals and with grocery shopping.
