About The Position

Under the supervision of the classroom teacher, the Integrated Preschool Assistant provides direct services to individuals and small groups of students in an inclusion setting. Requirements

  • Education Support Professional (ESP) Unit
  • Direct services to individuals and small groups of students in an inclusion setting.
  • Supports students during small and large groups times to engage in educational and social interactions.
  • Provides direct support to individuals and small groups of students based on Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitors student progress, records performance data, and communicates such to the classroom teacher.
  • Assist students in completing activities of daily living.
  • Prepares instruction materials according to teacher guidelines.
  • Promotes appropriate social interaction and behavioral compliance for students, including implementing behavior plans.

Responsibilities

  • Supports students during small and large groups times to engage in educational and social interactions.
  • Leads the class and/or small groups in activities.
  • Provides direct support to individuals and small groups of students based on Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Modifies and adapts instruction according to a student’s IEP, under the direction of the classroom teacher or special education liaison.
  • Monitors student progress, records performance data, and communicates such to the classroom teacher.
  • Assist students in completing activities of daily living.
  • Prepares instruction materials according to teacher guidelines.
  • Promotes appropriate social interaction and behavioral compliance for students, including implementing behavior plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.
