About The Position

Trupanion is seeking an Inbound Sales Specialist to educate pet owners about its medical insurance coverage and help them make informed decisions about protecting their pets. The role handles warm inbound leads and supports prospective customers by phone and email, using empathy, authenticity, confidence, and active listening to understand customer needs, answer questions, and guide enrollment. Success requires building customer trust, delivering an exceptional experience, and meeting individual sales and productivity goals in a fast-paced, high-volume contact center. The Contact Center operates 24/7, 365 days a year, including nights, weekends, and federal holidays. This position is remote across eligible U.S. states, with a hybrid option available at the Seattle office. Remote employees need a private, distraction-free workspace and a reliable hard-wired cable or fiber internet connection; Wi-Fi, satellite, and mobile hotspots are not permitted. The full-time schedule is five eight-hour shifts weekly, Friday through Tuesday, 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM Pacific Time, with Wednesdays and Thursdays off and a 30-minute unpaid meal break. The schedule is set and does not rotate. Training is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time; its duration varies based on P&C licensing status, and the timeline will be confirmed during recruitment. Attendance and active participation, including being on camera, are mandatory during training. Applicants must hold or be able to obtain and maintain an active Property and Casualty (P&C) license in their state of residence, and must be willing and able to obtain and maintain additional licenses in other U.S. states and applicable Canadian provinces as required. Trupanion facilitates additional licensing. Applicants in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, and New York must already hold an active P&C license. Applicants residing in California, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, and Massachusetts cannot currently be considered. Pay is $20 per hour on a full-time schedule, adjusted where local minimum wage requirements are higher. Employees are currently eligible for uncapped monthly individual-performance bonuses. New team members receive Restricted Stock Units that vest over four years. Applicants who already hold an active P&C license are eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus; for those who are not licensed, Trupanion provides licensing coursework and paid study time during the first three weeks of P&C training.
