About The Position

The Inbound Forklift Operator operates and maintains equipment associated with warehouse activity, performs related duties as required, and controls the flow of products being received into the warehouse. The role requires following equipment operating practices and safety and sanitation policies, maintaining assigned equipment, and using equipment appropriately to help prevent accidents, injuries, and damage.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of warehouse experience.
• Pass mandatory ergonomics testing.
• Working knowledge of Sysco safety and security policies, equipment associated with warehouse activities, and equipment operation.
• Ability to disseminate numerical data.
• Ability to manage work time efficiently and follow procedures and policies.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and identify and solve problems.
• Ability to manage pressure and stress in a deadline-oriented atmosphere.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate warehouse equipment according to applicable operating rules and practices, including tugs, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
• Keep assigned equipment clean and maintained, and report repair or service needs to the manager.
• Observe safety rules, regulations, and sanitation policies.
• Use equipment horns when driving out of storage areas, entering areas with obstructed views, and approaching walkways or row intersections.
• Plug equipment into a power source when it is not in use.
• Control the flow of products being received into the warehouse.
• Perform other related duties as required.
