About The Position

Manifold Bio is seeking an organized, motivated In-Vivo Research Technician to join its pharmacology team on a one-year contract. The technician will work alongside experienced researchers to prepare for and execute mouse studies supporting internal drug discovery programs. The role is structured around training and growth: dosing routes, blood collection, necropsy, and tissue processing can be taught. For the right candidate, the contract is intended as a path toward a permanent Research Associate position. Manifold Bio is a platform biotechnology company developing AI-guided protein design and massively multiplexed in vivo screening to advance tissue-targeted medicines and organism-scale models of living systems. Its proprietary molecular barcoding technology supports large-scale screening of protein designs in living systems, generating in vivo-validated datasets that power computational models and drug design. Its team includes protein engineers, biologists, and computational scientists working on internal programs and collaborations with pharmaceutical companies.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience handling animals, including the ability to confidently scruff a mouse.
  • Comfort working with laboratory animals in a vivarium environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written protocols and standard operating procedures accurately.
  • A proactive approach, including planning ahead rather than reacting.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new techniques and a collaborative, team-first attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with subcutaneous (SC), intravenous (IV), or oral (PO) dosing.
  • Experience with submental blood collection.
  • Experience with necropsy and tissue dissection.
  • Experience with tissue lysis, nucleic acid extraction, or other basic bench techniques.
  • Familiarity with Benchling or similar electronic lab notebooks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and label tubes, cages, and collection supplies before each study.
  • Set up procedure rooms for dosing days and study takedowns.
  • Tattoo and tail-mark mice; prepare and organize study cages.
  • Weigh animals and record data accurately.
  • Maintain study records in Benchling.
  • Help maintain laboratory and vivarium inventories.
  • Support necropsy and tissue collection; training is provided.
  • Process collected samples, primarily serum.
  • As time allows, assist with tissue weighing and lysis for downstream analysis.
